East Kilbride based Glencairn Crystal is, once again, supporting local charity Loaves and Fishes this Christmas.
Staff at the family owned business are stepping up donations this year, collecting presents and food parcels to donate to the local charity, in the hope of supporting the local community ensuring that no child in East Kilbride goes without a toy this Christmas. The Davidson family who run the business have also promised to match the staff’s generous donations.
Glencairn is also offering volunteers of the charity the use of a company van for local deliveries, as well as providing factory space to house items donated through the community collections.
Loaves and Fishes was established nearly 30 years ago, with 2020 being the first year that the charity ran out of food entirely. The charity costs £64K a year to fund and relies solely on charity donations and volunteer staff, who work tirelessly to provide hot meals, food parcels and toiletries at its food bank based in East Kilbride.
This Christmas the work carried out by the charity is needed more than ever due to the challenges brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic.

With this Christmas being a particularly difficult time for many people, we want to do as much as we can to help. Over the next few weeks the team at Loaves and Fishes need donations of food and toiletries as well as items such as hats, gloves, scarves, toys, books and art supplies for Christmas. They especially need items for children aged over three years old and older age groups.
