Glencairn Crystal’s established
reputation for product design and development in the luxury crystal
market continues with the design and manufacture of a limited number of
decanters for a special release of a 75 year-old single malt whisky by
Gordon & MacPhail.
Said Glencairn’s Product
development director, Scott Davidson: “We were delighted to be
approached by Gordon & MacPhail to design and manufacture the
limited edition decanter and glasses for the launch of their Mortlach 75
Years Old.”
Only 100 of these unique
decanters were produced to contain the oldest single malt Scotch whisky
in the world. The 75 year-old whisky, made in 1939, is priced at £20,000
for a decanter.
This is the latest luxury
decanter to be designed and manufactured by East Kilbride based
Glencairn Crystal, having already produced luxury decanters and glasses
for a host of clients in the global drinks industry including Johnnie
Walker, Glenfiddich, Macallan and Dewars.
